Code Club - SCRATCH magic!

Today Lehi, Andrew and Ben met in Room 2 for our very first Team 5 Code Club session! The club will meet every Wednesday lunchtime to learn new coding skills. Today they signed up for a new SCRATCH account and had fun getting started on their first coding project - creating a Rock Band with different characters or 'sprites' and using code to add realistic sounds. Year 8 Camp - Kauaeranga - Thames

Last Wednesday, the Year 8s headed out of Auckland to Thames. Why? It was time for the annual Leadership Camp. 

For three days, students got to challenge themselves, physically and mentally by pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones and step up as leader. 

We were lucky with the weather and made the most of all the outdoor activities. Delicious hot meals, lots of singing (and talking!) and plenty of activities like the flying fox, go-karting and the rifle range kept everyone busy - some people didn't want to go home! We stopped by a local park before the long, slow ride back home.
