Self-Portraits using Micrography - Ko Wai Au? Who Am I?

Room 2's movie today for PENN, our school's TV news, was inspired by our inquiry learning topic. In Team 5 this term, the theme is Ko Wai Au? Who Am I? 

We each created self-portraits using a special style of graphic art called micrography. The word can be broken down into two parts: micro = small and graphy = letters.

Our teacher took our photo and printed them out onto  A3 sheets of paper. First, we traced the outline of our head, hair and face in pencil and then we replaced all of the lines with words and sentences about ourselves.

Our inquiry topic in Team 5 this term is Ko Wai Au? Who am I? Students in Room 2 used a style of graphic design called micrography. The meaning is from two words:  micro = small, graphy = writing.

Nau Mai Haere Mai - Welcome to 2019!

Kia Ora! Malo e lelei! Bula Vinaka! Talofa lava! Kia Orana! Namaste! Welcome to Room 2 on Day 2 of the new school year. We have spent the last couple of days getting to know a whole bunch of new faces in our home class - we're going to have an awesome year! 2018 - Here we come!

The holidays are over and Term 1 for 2018 has started back at Pt England School. Here in Room 2, we have Year 8s back for another year as seniors of the school along with a bunch of  Year 7s joining us - full of energy and ready to make the step up to being leaders of the school as part of Team 5.  Follow us through the year as we share our learning for 2018. Visual Mihi - DLO Project - Term 1

Nau mai, haere mai!

The first DLO project for every student in Team 5 in 2017 was to create their own visual mihi. Each student had to design a graphic that included a picture of themselves and four images that represented things that had personal meaning or importance to them. Check out the visual mihi created by Bradley, Angelica, Benioni, Aretafaye, Angel and Sheales.
