Senior Prizegiving - 2020

Tonight was an evening of celebration at our Senior Prizegiving.  Manaia ki te Rangi led the way with a another awesome performance. Throughout the night, awards were given to students from Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8 for academic and sporting achievements and each group to take the stage to show off their dance moves!

Looking forward to 2021, we found out that FOUR students from Room 2 had been chosen to be school prefects -  a big pakipaki for Nina, Bradley, Kauri and Simon - we know you will each be amazing leaders next year!

Our night ended with a closing speech from our principal, Mr Burt and a karakia from Toby. 

Arts Alive: Room 2 Protestors - Our Final Sculptures!

OUR ART CHALLENGE:

To create a sculpture, in the style of Alberto Giacometti. Each person's figure would represent a protestor supporting a cause or issue that was important to them.

We made a lot of mess - with paint and plaster all over the desks, the floors, the walls, our uniforms and ourselves (a big SORRY to our awesome cleaners and our parents!) but... we had a lot of fun getting creative and finding out that we ALL had some pretty cool art skills! Nesi - My Paloveape (Pepeha) - TAHA WAIRUA

Mālō e lelei! Today Akanesi took up the TAHA WAIRUA challenge from Mamarei to share her pepeha in Tongan - her paloveape that shares information that is personal and important to her of places, landmarks and whanau names. Malo 'aupito Nesi!
