Swimming at GI Pools - Lesson #3

All students in Team 5 have the chance this term to take part in 4 lessons to improve their swimming and water safety skills.

Students walk to our local pool in Glen Innes for a 30 minute lesson from trained instructors. Each class is split into two groups depending on their swimming ability.

Each week more and more students are taking part - Week 1 - 12 students; Week 2 - 13 students and this week, 19 students from Room 2 got into the pool.
Next week is our last lesson and we are going to work hard to get EVERYONE, like Bradley, in the pool!

    1. Kia ora Selena,
Learning how to swim is really important since we like to spend lots of time in the water over the summer holidays. Do you have a pool at your school?

    1. Kia ora Hayley,
The students in Room 2 had a lot of fun learning how to swim from the instructors at our local pool. The 4 weeks of lessons went by really quickly though! Do you know how to swim?

  4. Kia ora Carma,
Thanks for your comment! The pictures in this blog post are of the beginners group so they were learning basic swimming techniques up and down one lane. The more experienced swimmers are in the bigger pool and have an instructor who helps them to swim longer distances with a focus on their technique.
Have you had the chance to have swimming lessons at your school?
