Blogger of the Week: KAHURANGI Te Taha Tinana (Physical Wellbeing)

This term for our inquiry we are looking at Te Whare Tapa Wha. This concept compares our bodies to a whare (house) with tapa wha (four walls or sides). Each wall or side represents an aspect of our health that we need to look after so that we are strong and healthy.

In our class, we worked together to find out more about TE TAHA TINANA or our physical wellbeing. First they drew a gingerbread person and covered it with different ways their friends and family could use to look after their bodies.

Simon and Kahurangi
Then they had to create three targets for the next week that would help them to improve their physical wellbeing.

Kahurangi's personal goals were:

Do/Movement
My first goal is to join more sport groups. Also i want do more running activities.

Eat/Drink
One of my goals for physical well being is to improve my eating just like getting better at deciding whether i want healthy food.

Hygiene
Last i want to get better at brushing my teeth more often and have showers 2 times a day not once.

What three goals could you set yourself to have better physical health?
