Bloggers of the week: SIONE, PASCHAL, ARTHUR Te Whare Tapa Wha

Our inquiry topic for this term is TE WHARE TAPA WHA. We are interested in finding out how we can balance our lives physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Read posts from Sione, Paschal and Arthur to see which areas of Te Whare Tapa Wha are strengths in their lives and which areas they could try to improve.

SIONE
Taha Hinengaro is a strength in my life. I enjoy seeing heaps of motivational speeches when i watch videos. It makes me have the spirit to get up and do some fitness to get fitter and faster, stronger. The most motivational part is getting use to all the strength you have to make yourself a better person than the past. last, but not least stay healthy and take responsibility for health too. Beauden Barrett is someone that i look up and listen to, because he has many possibilities on what he's doing. When it comes too his big games he has thoughts on what time the training begin, where the balls going and his position.

PASCHAL
Taha wairua is a strength in my life. I go church on Saturday and Sunday, on Saturday morning we go to church and have prayer meeting and bible study. I can improve in Taha hinengaro by having good thoughts and by making the right choices. Another Taha I am strong on is Taha whanau, I am strong in Taha Wairua because I always go church with some of my family members and friends. I also like playing video games or board games with my family and friends and those are my strengths in the Te Whare Tapa Wha.

ARTHUR
Taha wairua is a strength in my life. I go to church every Sunday and every second Sunday is my Sunday school. Sometimes I walk to church. While i'm walking I'm thinking to my self who is gonna be there? Is my friend Finn gonna be there? or is my other friend Tyler gonna be there? but I dont know because i'm not at church yet to see who is there. When i'm at church everyone always have to respect our pastors when they are speaking. I have to improve by taha hinengaro which is making right thoughts.

SELF PORTRAIT: Ko Wai Au? Who Am I?

This term Room 2 created multimedia self-portraits. We used a combination of photographs, collage and painting to share with each other some of the things that make us unique and special.

First, each student created a two lists: 1) things they enjoy doing and 2) adjectives that describe their key personality traits.

The whole class worked really hard to complete their artwork  in time for our first Parent-Teacher interviews for the year.

Check out the movie below to see how Room 2's self-portraits turned out!

Blog of the Week: Visual Mihi - Lennox

The first DLO (Digital Learning Object) task for all Team 5 students in 2020 has been to create a visual mihi.

Each student has had 4 weeks to complete an original piece of work that included a self-portrait, and four  images that represented things (people, places, objects) that were important to them. The real challenge was to 'free draw' using Hyperstudio - no tracing allowed except for the face!

Lennox is the first one to finish his visual mihi - see if you can figure out four things that are important to him.
